Patrick,

Yes, the rxnotch filter works on audio coming from any in-bound rxchannel, 
local or remote.

It would also be useful to try the simpleusb DCSfilter setting, if the
low-frequency noise is coming from a local receiver.  The DCSfilter is a
"brick wall" hi-pass filter which effectively stops noise from digital
coded squelch.

What kind of peak amplitude are you seeing? Do you have a Bode plot?
