[arm-allstar] Hamlib / GPIOs for Channel Steering

Well, like they say, it's never too late to teach an old dog new tricks.
I have never looked into hamlib controlling a radio from usb on
the raspberry hamvoip to usb on a radio.
I like what I just read from David's url.
I am getting up there in age and thinking of not spending the day on
my laptop so after i give it a rest I might look more into hamlib.
Problem is the radio, i don't have any radio with usb programming.
I like the cdm1250 and i use GPIO pins and scripts to control and
announce channels when commanded, dtmf, supermon favorites, control.
I also figured out a way to display the last channel selected on the top
line of supermon. I also use two cdm1250's, VHF, UHF, and 15 channels each.
I also use zerotier for remote access so if the ISP for Internet won't
allow NAT
I can still get to the raspberry. I also use Prolific 2303 usb to serial
db9 adapters
when i can find them, lately i have had two attempts ordering online did
not support
linux as advertised, so still trying to find one. I use Zywall 5 vpn router
and Comtrol
DeviceMaster IP to serial RTS1 box's when NAT is allowed at the site for
ports
500 and 4500 UDP to get access to the router with secure client software.
I use a 8 relay 5vdc isolation relay board to control everything on the
dual band
remote base setup.
I have to say I made the right choice 5 years ago when i got back into ham
radio
to help some friends update there old repeaters, I chose Allstar Hamvoip.
I can't Thank David McGough enough for the endless hours he has spent on
this
great software. I am not a linux guru, i retired from HP as a senior field
engineer
and had enough to think about, but lately I am catching on.
I really like this the forum with the technical interest and all the help
everyone has to offer.
I will try to attach a picture of my supermon.
I hope to someday to document my dual band remote base setup.
I have a dropbox but it doesn't have anything on remote base yet.
