*Since it briefly receives then switches to transmit, it sounds like you
have it configured for a full duplex repeater, which is the default. You
can convert it to a simplex node by editing the /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf
file and adding the following line, or changing it if it already exists:
[49876]
duplex = 1
Then restart asterisk or reboot.
