[arm-allstar] Weather Script

Hi Dave,

I started playing with this script this morning when I saw your initial post. Like you, I was missing Lynx and had to install it to get the script to work. I made some slight modification to the script to allow the user to specify the node to play on, and to place the files in the /tmp directory.

I also tested the wx_condition.sh which has been included with HamVOIP for a long time, and it works great. However, the difference I see after testing both this morning is that the wx_condition.sh only plays the current weather conditions, whereas the forecast script by N3FIX plays the wx forecast for today and the next five days. A slight difference in the type of information provided by each. That being said, I do not have a wx station myself (yet) so I'm not using a Weather Underground API. Perhaps more information, like forecast, is provided if you use the Weather Underground API with the wx_condition.sh script.

Anyway, thanks for the posts. I now have both scripts working on my repeater in case I want to use them.

73,
Larry

Ok, this hamvoip software has so many nice surprises, a little more research and what I want is all ready in the hamvoip software. Just follow instructions in /usr/local/sbin/wx_condition.sh case closed, time to go out and enjoy the nice weather, and that is my report.
