Hi,
I have swapped to an Alcatel MiFi and that has connected successfully. I found somewhere on the messages a reference that allstar Wi-Fi may not like a space in the router name.
I made sure the Alcatel was all one word and it accessed and worked.
If I switch off the node and re-start, it won't pick up the Wi-Fi signal from the MiFi. Is there a way to set up a fixed IP address so it always connects?
I can connect an Ethernet and using the interface scan for wifi and set it up again. I assumed it retained the settings, maybe I have to edit the wpa_supplicant file.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Hi,
Were you able to get this issue sorted out? I was having issues trying to use my iPhone as a hotspot not long ago. David mentioned that I might be having an issue with my carrier using CGNAT (Carrier Grade)NAT, and experiencing rapidly changing public IP addresses. I installed nordvpn on my rpi4b, which I already had a subscription for since I work out of the US a fair bit. When I connected to the nordvpn server that got me a fixed public facing IP address, and I was then able to connect my node to others and use it for comms. The drawback with this approach is that I can?t connect into the node remotely from the www. I had to whitelist the ssh port in the nordvpn setup, and I can only access the node via ssh from behind the iPhone hotspot router. All in all I was happy with the solution because I have a fixed IP node that I can access from anywhere via ssh, and once I connect my hotspot connected node into my primary accessible from anywhere node I can connect up wit h other nodes remotely. I?d still like a solution that gets me all the advantages of a fixed IP with port forwarding setup when using a wireless hotspot but I haven?t figured it out and I haven?t been able to find someone who has published their solution.
Best Regards,
Nathanael Griesert AD8GP

Subject: [arm-allstar] MiFi and node not talking
Hi,
Can anyone help; I am trying to use a 4G-LTE MiFi and put a fresh install of Hamvoip and set it up using a monitor.
I set the node number 42879 and it password and then set up the Wi-Fi connection to the 4G MiFi.
After a reboot it loaded up and I got back to the menu screen, but the IP address wasn't spoken.
I rebooted from the menu again and got an IP address. The CLI registry showed connected, when I try
https://emea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2F192.168.100.102%2Flink.php%3Fnodes%3D42879&data=04%7C01%7C%7C055cfa15da024fe4f15508d947a99d04%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637619616098920923%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=OiRFXIyRK2n5YTMna62OrYo%2BxVPaQZkej9FP36TGMC4%3D&reserved=0
I get the message on the Allstar screenshot. I noted it showed 1998 instead of 42879.
I used WinSCP and connected and did find in the registration .conf file that the node password was yyyyyy; changed it to the correct password And going into the CLI command line typed 'rpt fun 42879 *342360' where 41360 is a local node for our club repeater.
It connected.
I powered down both the MiFi and the node and the next day when I connected the IP address announce was different 192.168.100.101 and I couldn't get connected. Tried the http:// route changing the IP address but got the same response.
Tried via CLI command line but no connection.
Tried again the next day and I got the IP address of the admin access to the MiFi.
Tried today and didn't get an IP address. Switched off for now, may try a fresh install and try again.
Thanks for reading all this hope I can solve the problem. It will be some command line working But where do I start.

In a recent upgrade to Teamviewer it requires the following dependency
files:
libxss.so.1
libxcursor.so.1
libxrandr.so.2
libxminizip.so.1
When trying to download these files using the "pacman -S" command it comes back and says "target not found", any ideas on how I might find these files to download so I can finish installing Teamviewer?
Up until now I have never needed these four files but now it does.
Thanks

Hi,
Well, you can get the first 3 libraries with:
pacman -S libxss libxcursor libxrandr
...Not sure about libxminizip.so.1, never heard of it?? There is a minizip tool, with libminizip.
pacman -S minizip
Are you running full Xorg?
