Ron,
If *81 or *82 are distorted then you have too much gain in item 3. Turn
it down. The idea is not to mess with the telemetry levels and set item 3
first with telemnomdb=0. The announcements should not sound distorted. If
they do item 3 is too high. Then after they sound good if you want to
further reduce telemetry levels you can setting telemnomdb= some minus
value. Also remember when you change these values in rpt.conf you need to
do a restart, simpleusb changes are immediate.
