Don,
The PTT LED will only happen when you are connected to another node. It
is their incoming logic signal that keys your node.
When there is Audio at the connected location their COS signal becomes
PTT on your end indicating there is audio coming inbound to your node
thus keying the PTT on your transmitter.
That is the reason you hook Mic PTT (as you have no receiver to activate
the COS on the RA-25).
