*(1) Log in to your node via SSH.
(2) When the MENU appears, scroll down to #9 and press ENTER.
(3) Invoke the file editor by typing without the quotes "nano
/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf" press ENTER.
(4) Scroll down to the line that reads "telemnomdb=-3" your value is
probably different than -3.
(4) Change this to a high negative number such as "-5" then exit the
editor with "control-x".
(5) Press "y" to confirm you want to save changes.
(6) When the bar says, "File Name to Write: rpt.conf" just press ENTER
(do not change the name).
(7) You are now back at the root prompt so type "exit" and ENTER.
(8) You are now back at the MENU so choose item 13 and press ENTER.

Repeat this process, changing "telemnomdb" to a greater negative number
such as "-9" as needed to adjust the level down further.

> Hello all. I have an issue with my Hamvoip software. When my repeater telemetry comes on (voice repeater ID/messages) the voice sounds over-modulated but, when I work a station on the repeater, everything is fine with the stations voice and tonal quality. How do I adjust the volume of the telemertry voice? PLEASE dont just tell me to edit a file. I need to know exactly what to do here. Thank you.
