Adam,
In the USA, 20WPM is the maximum speed allowed for automatic
identification of ham radio stations. See: 97.119(b)(1):
https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/47/97.119
If you need a faster speed, you can make individual high quality sound
files using the tomorse program, included in the HamVoIP distro.
usage: tomorse [-p <pitch>] [-c <character speed>] [-s <word speed>]
echo "DE KB4FXC RPT" | tomorse -c 24 -s 20 > kb4fxc-rpt.wav
sox -v 0.25 kb4fxc-rpt.wav -c 1 -r 8000 kb4fxc-rpt-8kpcm.wav
