Hello Stan,
I do not have a monitor and keyboard, I have an old dell with windows 10, a MacBook pro. And of course a router. I li e in the hills..very rural. Our internet is a beam shot from my neighbors house through the trees to ours. He supplies a few houses like that. From town, the beam is shot to his house. Rural living at its best.
One ethernet cable is going from the router to the windows box, another to the node. The windows box has an address of 105, I finally determined that the node is 106. So far, so good. I have Putty, Kitty and all that. Okay, open up Putty and enter 222 for the port number and !!!!.106 for the address. Terminal box comes up and after a while a box comes up and says Putty Failure, connection timed out. (Sigh)…

Turn on and blinks dit-dit-dit-dah…The letter V I believe. I try Putty and know that the ethernet IP connected to the Pi is .106 because I have another node (one of Mark’s nano-nodes). Use port 222. Keep getting connection timed out. So I am stuck at the easy part…Jeez, what am I doing wrong. I tried typing the IP into the Browser with no luck in getting a page that says TEST.
