Here are my setting for simple usb
rxmixerset=550
txmixaset=50
txmixbset=500

RX boost disabled 
Pre emphasis enabled
De emphasis disabled
Plfilter enabled
PTT low
Cos from usb 
Ctcssfrom no
Rxdelay 0

You might be overdriving the 1500 if you are using the data port. 

Also I think I’m using the 1200 side. Built my own cable. No resistors. Direct wired through the Db25. 

Use the APRS wiring pins wired to the URI
