Thanks Doug. It eventually works but once I shutdown and restart it won't connect again for a while. I check the registration and dns tommorw.
Thanks for the help

John,

You might be up against the same problem many other have been having, not
being able to download the node file. Under our new DNS lookup feature that
is no longer required and I am sending you the instructions to set it up in
a separate email. Let me know how you make out. You also need to check that
you are registered as that could be an issue also.  There is a check_reg.sh
script you can run at the Linux prompt to check that.

I have no idea what *980 is?? Is that something you setup? We have no
function like that. Do the DNS changes I sent you and check your
registration as I pointed out.

hamvoip operates in user root. You should have as part of the stock install
-

crontab -l

# Do not remove the following line
# required for lsnodes and allmon
15 03 * * * cd /usr/local/sbin; ./astdb.php cron
00 0-23 * * * (source /usr/local/etc/allstar.env ; /usr/bin/nice -19
/usr/bin/perl /usr/local/sbin/saytime.pl 18954 $NODE1 > /dev/null)

This is in every installation unless you took it out.
