Frank,

 I am assuming you are using the hamvoip V1.5 Pi software. In the main menu
go to item 13 run simpleusb-tune-menu,

Select the v option and you will see a display on the screen showing you
the COS status. It will look like this:

REALTIME RX TELEMETRY DISPLAY:
     COS     |     COS   |  COS   |  CTCSS  |   CTCSS    |  PTT
(composite) | (input) |  (test) | (input)   | (override) |
   CLEAR    |  CLEAR   | CLEAR| IGNORE |   CLEAR    | CLEAR

The important thing is the COS COMPOSITE which is shown here as CLEAR. This
is the normal unkey state. When COS is KEYED (the node radio is receiving a
signal) it will say KEYED.

Item j on the menu changes the state of COS. Depending on your radio it
will be set to USB or USBINVERT.  USB means the COS signal from the radio
goes high with signal and USNINVERT means it goes low (0V)

Set this by select from the j items for your radio.

Then when you key into your node looking at the v screen it should change
to PTT.
