Alan,
I checked this again. Setting telemdefault to any value only effects the
connect/disconnect messages. It doe not stop the time or any playback of
audio. I would suspect your time is not working period and has nothing to
do with telemdefault. Are you hearing any messages at all? Remeber if you
have duplex=0 then all telemetry is off.
