Richard,
It a radio has PL or DTS and you don't need to dynamically change it, it
is always best to use it in the radio then in SW. It would be best to
solve the issues with external leads if that in fact is the problem.
As far as channel driver updates are concerned the answer is yes, we are
working on an integrated and much improved driver called iopipe. The
reason this has been delayed is the update pipeline priorities change. At
the moment it is the dns lookup which is working great and soon to be
introduce to all. I suspect once things settle a bit the iopipe will be the
next big update hopefully by the end of the year.
