[arm-allstar] usb-backup.sh exit code 2

I have image V1.5rc2 running on an RPi3.  I added the echolink function 
and have Supermon working and so it's time to backup the configuration.  
When I run the usb-backup.sh script it sees the memory stick and starts 
the backup, however it quickly says there is an error exit code 2.
I have tried two memory sticks, one 8GB and another 2GB.  Both formatted 
first as NTFS and then exFAT with no luck.
What is this error and what can I do?  I will be placing the RPi at a 
repeater site so having a separate memory that can receive a backup 
would be great.
