[arm-allstar] WiFi No password problem

I'm trying to setup my Pi3 without a password on an open wifi network to
no avail. Works great on any network with a password. Not at all with no
password.

I run the wireless-setup.sh, it finds the open Network, I select it, it
asks for a password and text says enter blank for open network. I assume
this should say leave blank but I've even tried to enter blank which it
won't accept.
I leave it blank and select OK. Get No password entered assuming open site.
Select OK. Says adding "open" no passphrase site with SSID =
"KPS_ASUS_INDOORS" - OK to add. Select yes and it goes to the command
prompt just like it does when I enter a password. Never get the
instructions to remove ethernet connection but I've set up enough of these
to know how it's supposed to work. Remove the ethernet cable and reboot and
it fails to connect. Plug in the ethernet and it responds to the old IP
address via putty.

I've even re-ran the wifi install script again to be sure it actuality got
in right.

Run nano /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant_custom-wlan0.conf and the file
is empty.

Setup with a password and there's text in the file.

I'm stumped.
