Thank you for the compliments. On the node radio I do want to make the
point that everyone has different requirements. Many using Allstar are
operating what we call local nodes. That is a node that services a very
small area, mainly the single user. This could be in a car or home and
often the node is 1W or less and has a very small antenna or even a dummy
load. In these cases a cheap transceiver is often used and at this point
there are an enormous number of the Baofeng radios being used very
successfully in this way. So don't discount the cheap transceiver in these
applications.
