Hi Bryan,
If the problem continues and you can't find a fix -- I'll send you an
external antenna to try --
It does sound like an RF problem --

While testing yesterday, I was connected to external power, no battery.

Today, I am using 2 charged batteries.  (Wanted to make sure it wasn't power
source related.) Batteries for testing only.
