Rx audio is audio coming from the repeater, TX audio is audio going to the repeater.
Rx audio would be audio coming from the repeaters RF receiver.
TX audio would be audio to the repeater which would include repeated audio from the repeater RX, audio from the Internet, and telemetry.
rxboost would only effect the audio from the repeater receiver to Allstar but would also effect audio to the repeater output and Internet so it should be set first. It is item 2 in simpleusb-tune-menu. There is a level meter and audio input to the repeater receiver should be shown there. If you cannot get the rx level set correctly you can turn rxboost on or off.
Once that is set item 3 (or 4 depending on what pin tx audio is being used) sets the level that you hear on the repeater. The audio the repeater transmits. There is no tx boost in simpleusb.
All of the levels are between 1 and 999.
I am concerned that the changes you are making are not doing anything. Even if the audio were low to begin with changing the levels should have an effect and certainly rxboost on the rx side should show a big change.
Some (few) radios need additional amplification and the URI has an additional amplifier you can utilize if necessary. See the URI documentation for info.
