Also take a look at the problems documented at http://elinux.org/UPnP
As a security admin, I would not enable upnp, why in the world would you allow
inbound connections with basically no authentication?

If it would help your development, I could send you a router running OpenWRT,
which would allow you to end up running just about anything.
