[arm-allstar] Rasberry PI3 wifi/wired connection confuses scripts

Jeff,
You are right that you should be using just one or the other (wifi or
wired) except when setting up. The procedure is to always setup on wired.
Then if you want to use wireless run the wireless setup and then reboot or
shutdown disconnecting the wired as you boot. The wired usually always
takes over if you plug it in later but if you exclusively want to use it
again you should turn off the wifi. This can be done in the
wireless-control.sh script. This procedure is described in the 1.02 readme
located just after the 1.02 download on the hamvoip.org web page.
If you do not have access to a wired connection wireless setup could be
achieved using an HDMI monitor and a keyboard plugged into the Pi but you
initially would have to download the wireless scripts from a wired
connection for the 1.02 image.
In the 1.5 version wireless will be preloaded and all settings will be done
from an admin menu. Users will not have to remember all the script names,
etc. Just select the item you want from a menu.
Because of experiences I have had with wifi in densely populated areas I
recommend wired whenever you can. A portable node with a router nearby
should be fine and in most case residential wifi should be fine but you can
run into some really squirely situations with wifi that you would not
notice browsing web pages or streaming video. VOIP is not buffered and any
loss of packets shows up very starkly. One important thing, if you have
more than one access point in your home make sure they are assigned to
different channels and remember you really only have four non overlapping
2.4G channels - 1, 6, 11, and 14. If you are having problems with wifi it
would be good to use one of the phone apps or other means to survey the
channels.
