Mark,
Also keep in mind that you should also be able to log into your router and see the BBB listed -
This is what I see for a BBB that has dhcp'ed in on my ddwrt router.
Active Clients
Hostname
IP Address
MAC Address
Conn. Count
Ratio [4096]
bbb-allstar192.168.0.2117c:66:9d:5a:6a:5b2
The key is the bbb-allstar name. Look for that.

Subject: [arm-allstar] n00b SSH question
Hi all,
I’ve amassed all the parts (I think!) to build up a node using the BBB. I’m able to boot from the SD card and capture the IP address using the flashing LED. When I attempt to SSH to the device the password ‘root’ is rejected. Here’s what I get:
M1-2:~ mark$ sudo ssh root at 10.80.62.78 -p 222Password:Sorry, try again.Password:
>From my reading of the man page I ‘think’ I have the SSH command structured correctly but I’m a newcomer to Linux so I really don’t have a clue! :)
Any direction would be appreciated!
Thanks!Mark
