Mark,
A light bulb just went off when I looked back at your message. I think that from what you showed it is possibly asking for the sudo password not the ssh password.
When you run sudo it will ask for a password which remains active for some period of time. Why not become root on the system you are sshing from and skip sudo altogether. su then give root password.

Subject: [arm-allstar] n00b SSH question
Hi all,
I’ve amassed all the parts (I think!) to build up a node using the BBB. I’m able to boot from the SD card and capture the IP address using the flashing LED. When I attempt to SSH to the device the password ‘root’ is rejected. Here’s what I get:
M1-2:~ mark$ sudo ssh root at 10.80.62.78 -p 222Password:Sorry, try again.Password:
>From my reading of the man page I ‘think’ I have the SSH command structured correctly but I’m a newcomer to Linux so I really don’t have a clue! :)
Any direction would be appreciated!
Thanks!Mark
