[arm-allstar] DNS Server

Dave,
Had some funniness in the log the night before last.  It was stable last night.
I have my ISP's internal DNS servers and 8.8.4.4 defined in resolv.conf.  Just wondering why the Named service was running and what, if anything it was being used for.
Thank you for your reply.
Kent

Hi Kent,

Running a local DNS server is an hold over from my building hundreds of
custom routers. DNS on various ISP's is one of the things that I found to
be broken most frequently.  Most ISP's allow traffic to the root servers,
so, I found that running local DNS fixes more issues than you might
imagine.

However, running a local DNS server isn't a requirement for operation--as
long as you do have a working DNS server available.

Are you having trouble with DNS??? The default DNS configuration in this
distro shouldn't pose any security hazards.
