Subject: [arm-allstar] Kenwood TM-V71A Settings

Hi Everyone,

If anyone is using a Kenwood TM-V71A radio for their node I would like to
compare menu 520, the SQC Output Setting to make sure that mine is set
correctly. I am using the rear 6 pin din data connector in the back of the
radio. The SQC pin is connected to the COR -DET pin of the URIx connector.

Here are the selections for menu 520.

Set the SQC output activation method to one of the following:

. OFF: SQC output remains inactive.

. BUSY: When a signal is received on the data band, the SQC output becomes
active.

. SQL: While CTCSS/DCS is ON and a matching signal is received, the SQC
output becomes active. While CTCSS/DCS is OFF, the SQC output becomes active
when a busy signal is received.

. TX: While transmitting, the SQC output becomes active.

. BUSY.TX: When the conditions of BUSY and TX (above) are met, the SQC
output becomes active.

. SQL.TX: When the conditions of SQL and TX (above) are met, the SQC output
becomes active.

Everything that I've read about this radio and Allstar is the setting should
be SQL and that is where it's set. Also, I have the radio control knob set
fully counter clockwise, set to unscquelch. My tone and ctcss are both set.
