The easiest way to make a full backup is to use the same software you used
to initially write the image to the sd card. Use it to read the card to a
new image. I use https://win32diskimager.org/
I use WinSCP or another SFTP app to log into my Pi to modify files or make
backups to individual files. https://winscp.net/eng/index.php
