Thanks Danny but you just now replied to the forum so i should reply as well.
I got a bash script from Patrick N2DYI which did the trick for me/us.
I decided not to schedule the event but to have net control run it at 6:15 pm
and he is very happy with it. The net starts at 6:30 and several text to speech
announcements by Mary do the job so net control doesn't have to do all the talking,
script reading and best of all I pointed net control to IAXRPT app on his computer
and now he has full duplex so he can hear if he or someone is doubling during the net.
and the OneTouchKeys in the IAXRPT app allow easy tap to play more net announcements.
another great thing with IAXRPT is the foot switch capability so net control can shrink the app down
out of site and have access to anything else on his computer during the net and use the
foot switch to transmit without having to touch the iaxrpt app window.
Ah so much fun this Hamvoip software is. If I ever get time and energy i will finish my
document on my dual band remote base using two cdm1250's 15 channels each, remote
programmable with voice announcements and channel display on supermon.
Thanks again everyone.
i attached the file in case anyone else would like to use it.
change the node to yours.
*543 is a macro to turn off telemetry
cqx3 is the first part of the net announcement
then the rest are on the iaxrpt OneTouchKeys but can also be dtmf commanded.

As I mentioned to you privately Dave, setup a cron job for 8:15pm daily to check for the existence of a file somewhere (in /tmp?).
You can use DTMF commands to create and delete the file.
When the cron job runs at 8:15pm, and the file is present, play the announcement and delete the file.
