I'll admit to only having name recognition of Echolink, I've never used
it directly so I am not aware of its limitations/problems.

One thing I expected with setting up the HamVOIP node was having random
connections. That seems not to be the case having only one ham do so
since my first one was online in June last year. Our repeaters are idle
enough that some random activity would be welcome. However, given the
comments on this topic, it's clear that such a feature should be opt-in
only with the possibility of opting out at will. Actually, opting
in/out at will is probably desirable.

Again, I don't know exactly what such a feature would entail. It seems
to me that a very AllStar type of feature would be a database of server
nodes intended as round tables. Maybe this is much different than what
is envisioned.
