LaRoy, something isn't right there. The MTR should not be making squelch tails. Motorola radios are real good about this. What I use, always, is the radio's squelch output. Been quite a while sinceI worked on a MTR but there should be a "receive signal ok" output. However, if using non-Motorola radios talking to it some will do reverse burst correctly, and some won't…especially the stuff sold into the amateur market.
