There a lots of articles about hum, noise buzz, etc between computers
and ham radios. Jim stresses BONDING every individual module in a
station to each other in addition to each item being bonded to a single
point ground. If you read his papers, unwanted noise is caused by a
difference in potential between each part of the station. Also, he says
that RS232 interfaces must use the shield of the connection instead of
the RS232 'ground' between devices. So, USB cables need to have a heavy
bonding connection between different modules. Audio cables are also a
source of issues and you should make your own using high-quality
connectors instead of buying ready-made cables for cheap. YMMV
