[arm-allstar] old version of HamLib

Hi:
I realize that this is not a RigCTL discussion list...
I'm attempting to get a Kenwood TH-D700A frequency agile from HamVoIP
with it's included RigCTL, and running into lots of weird issues
controlling the rig interactively with RigCTL for testing.
For example, I can change parameters, like BEEP, levels, like SQL, or
switch between VFO A, VFO B and MEM, and, while these all actually work,
I get errors from RigCTL.
Rig command: V VFOA
set_vfo: error = Command rejected by the rig
Despite this error, it does actually do stuff.
I can query for current memory channel, which, of course, doesn't work,
because I'm in VFO.
Rig command: e
get_mem: error = Feature not available
Then I can switch from VFO A to memory, which throws an error.
Rig command: V MEM
set_vfo: error = Command rejected by the rig
Yet, I am now obviously in memory, because now I can
Rig command: e
Memory#: 11
However, no matter what I do, I can't change memories.
Rig command: E 19
set_mem: error = Command rejected by the rig
Rig command: e
Memory#: 11
Looking at the version of HamVoIP's included RigCTL, it's really old.
rigctl --version
rigctl(d), Hamlib 4.0~git

I'm going to try installing hamlib fresh on another system to see if
this fixes any issues. I am far more familiar with Debian variants than
Archlinux, so I'll put a fresh install on Debian to play with.
Meanwhile, is there an obvious way to update the apparently 9-year-old
version?
Thanks and 73
