To disable un key courtesy tone or roger beep, edit the following line in
/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf:

nounkeyct=1 ;no un key courtesy tone, 0=default, 1=disable

The default if this statement is not present, commented out, or =0 is to
allow courtesy tones.

To disable your voice node callsign ID announcement, edit the following
line in /etc/asterisk/rpt.conf by putting a semicolon in front of it to
comment it out:

; idrecording=/etc/asterisk/local/node-id

To disable the hourly time announcement:

Select option 9 Start Bash shell interface

Enter the command crontab -e

Put a pound sign (#) in front of the line that starts with 00 0-23 ***

Press Ctrl-O to save

Press Enter to save to the same file name

Press Ctrl-X to exit

Type exit to return to the menu
