Hi Mike,
Thanks for your email and no worries using my pointers.
I am running multiple clients connected to the single Open VPN VPS instance.
I have two remotely connected Allstar nodes and a RemoteHams.com server all connected to the OpenVPN server, all on LTE mobile broadband connections and previously unreachable behind CGNAT.
I add a new user and generate a separate .ovpn/.conf file for each new user, using a different name for each profile using "openvpn-install.sh" script. The profiles should be saved in your /root directory.
I also set up on the server side, so that each node gets the same IP address each time it connects through the client config dir (in /etc/openvpn/ccd ), so I can find each node on my VPN easily. For the Allstar nodes, I send the data traffic out directly via the LTE mobile service provider and just use OpenVPN to remotely manage the node. With the RemoteHams software I route all traffic in/out via the VPN as it requires a public facing IP for clients to connect to it and use IP tables to route traffic from the public IP interface to VPN IP for the RemoteHams Win10 computer.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers,
Rob...

Rob, I appreciate you sharing your experience. I have been using OpenVPN as
well and typed up a guide to help those that are new to it. Do you mind if
I steal a couple of pointers from yours for it? The main thing I wanted to
add is the client.conf change in rc.allstar.
Also, have you tried multiple clients on one VPN? I would like to combine
two nodes for one club onto one server is possible, instead of individual
servers, but never quite figured out multiple clients on OpenVPN.
