Rob,


   I have never done this but some quick googling shows that it works
directly with ntp. Since we do not use ntp but rather timesyncd you may not
be able to do it that way.  You would either have to turn off timesyncd and
load ntp or do it some other way. Since this would always be overwritten
with Linux code updates I would recommend trying it with a script. Here is
an example -

This reads the time and sets the clock via the date command. You would need
to run this periodically to sync the time.

There might be a better way with more research.
