Hi Luc,
What type of USB fob are you using?
I've had this problem in the past with various different adapters. My
problems were traced to power surges (like during lightning storms),
disrupting the USB bus.
For power surges, make sure you've got a solid ground path all the
way from the RPi power source to the radio/repeater. A single-point ground
is ideal to minimize ground loops. I use a lot of DMK URI adapters and
I also added a ground wire to all my adapters in production use, as can be
seen here:

Minimize the length of the USB cables, carefully placing the RPi near
the radio/repeater. Also, using a DC-DC 5V power supply for the RPi is the
strategy I use, again tying the power supply negative lead to the
single-point ground. I'll locate photos showing my typical configuration.
For me, this methodology evolved over many years of trial and testing.
Now, I've not any USB issues for several years.
