[arm-allstar] Antenna suggestions for mobile node

All, putting a node in my truck using a Motorola radio I have laying around
and a RIM-Lite USB interface for when I'm mobile. Ideally, I plan on
mounting the Pi atop the radio, wiring both up so that I can unplug it and
set it inside somewhere with a small power supply if I want. I'd like to
use an antenna mounted directly to the radio instead of going through the
trouble of a magnetic mount/lip mount and coming up with a way to mount it.
Since I'll be running it low power in this scenario, would something like a
cheap scanner/receiver antenna work? Or has anyone else tried a similar
configuration and has a better solution? I know, not directly Allstar
related, but I'm curious if anyone else has tried this..
