	Could it be "hanging/waiting" simply because of the expected 
"permanent" connection to the 44045 hub (over your VPN), which it can't 
see while the ISP connections is down?

	However, I do think that Ken is also right about the possibility of log 
msg overflow in tempfs, but IMO that's not the issue in your case as you 
would see that file size/contents etc when the node becomes visible 
again and it would not clear on its own without a reboot so the overflow 
would still exit.
