Yes, I've measured the actual bandwidth used. See this message for

Without knowing what type of Internet connection your Son has at home,
it's impossible to say how well the remote-base will work. However, for
most home Internet connections these days, the bandwidth use will be
insignificant and performance should be great----so, go for it!
