Dana,

The rpt_extnodes file isn't used on HamVoIP nodes. All node info lookups 
are performed real-time (using DNS), over the Internet, for public nodes.

For private nodes, you can use the [nodes] stanza, at the bottom of the 
/etc/asterisk/rpt.conf file.  Also, what kind of hotspot are you using? 
You will likely be able to connect out-bound from the hotspot node, but 
not in-bound (due to NAT).
