I have placed a howto at the hamvoip.org web page on setting up your Google
drive on your Allstar server. It is a relatively simple procedure. If you
already have a Google account it should take no more than a few minutes to
do. If you do not have a Google account you will need to establish one to
use this feature. Accounts are free and the free storage level is 15Gb
including your email and other Goggle services. More space can be purchased
if necessary but the 15Gb should be adequate for the majority of users.

Also two new scripts have been added in an update today. Use the admin menu
item 1 to update.

google-backup.sh and google-restore.sh

google-backup.sh will backup files that are described in
/usr/local/etc/backup.conf, compress them in a tar file and upload them to
your Google drive.

google-restore.sh will present a list in several ways where you can select
files to download from your Goggle drive.

Both of these scripts and the gdrive commands are described in the howto.
Users can directly use the gdrive commands to upload and download files but
since the commands are not always conventional you must refer to the
documentation and link in the howto.

gdrive often reports errors about exceeding rates, etc. when issuing manual
commands. In these cases just "up arrow" and repeat the command as many
times as it takes to complete. It usually takes no more than 2 or 3 times.
This is hidden in the backup and restore scripts but you will see some
delay at times for uploads and downloads.
