If you have control over the repeater the way to do this is to have the
repeater PL output follow the repeater PL input thus no tail or repeater
messages or courtesy tone would make it to the remote node which would be
looking for the PL. On some controllers this is easy to do and on others
you would have to actually make modifications. BTW this is not a dumb
question many have this issue as they do not have Internet at a repeater
site and need to use a remote node. The downside of course is that it is
then not full duplex.
