Good news. I really like the idea of the radio-less node. Makes a lot
of sense to use when in a fixed stable place, like your shack, as you
don't need to worry about things like the close-in simplex connection
(like when the guy down the block puts out 50W on 446.025) or keeping
your HT charged (nothing worse than an almost dead battery in an HT),
etc. You could even install it in the cabin of your truck (assuming
HotSpots).

Myself, I like that my [beta] ChiliMini, rPi3B, and small battery all
fit in a small 5x7x1.5" hard-drive carrying case and I can use whatever
HotSpot (like my phone) I choose, but still connect it with an ethernet
cable at either of my two regular QTH locations. Works great for all my
HamVoip demos here in NV and in Idaho.

The beauty of HamVoip is that you can easily use it with almost *any*
radio with PTT/COS (just read-thru the mailing list archives), from a
full-on repeater to an el-cheapo low-power HT, and/or even with just the
audio/control connection like you can get with one of the radio-less
designs. One just needs to craft their settings (and expectations) well.

Here in NV, we use HamVoip to connect all 5 of our club repeaters
together thru our central AllStar hub with fantastic success
(http://w7hen.com/repeater).

Doug and David have given us an on-going and incredible gift with
HamVoip. What amazes me is that they both keep showing up here, for
free, providing all levels of tech support - even in the most confusing
of situations/descriptions.

And, of course, thanks to Jim Dixon, SK Dec-2016, for all that he did
in providing the basic foundation with app_rpt initially.

	Thanks guys,

	- Don - AA7AU
