[arm-allstar] Using a FT-2500M as a simplex node radio

I have a Yaesu FT-2500M sitting around not doing nothing. I also have a 2 m
all directional antenna about 45 ft in the air.
I was thinking about putting both to good use again in the form of an
All-Star simplex node.
The manual shows the pins for the microphone and in the past I have built a
tnc for APRS for it.
What would it take to interface this radio to a PI with the Ham VOIP image?
