The download image at hamvoip.org is intended to be updated before doing
the setup. The current download version (19) is at least 20 updates behind
the image and the download image will always be behind the general release.
The current download image has a bug that if Internet is not connected the
login after setup can fail. This will not happen if you update as the first
step in setup. We intend to update the web image but have been holding off
until the registration update is released to all.
Updating the image is the very first thing in the setup and should always
be done before proceeding. Since Allstar by nature is Internet based you
should always have wired Internet connected when initially setting up the
software. You cannot setup using wireless as that has to be initialized
after the setup process.
I should probably make this clearer in the setup howto.
