Is there a easy way to turn off all telemetry for linking a simplex node
to a repeater?

Jim,
There are different ways to do this. If you set duplex=0 it turns off all
telemetry except cwid. You can also set nounkeyct=1 with duplex=1 to stop
the courtesy tone. You also have rxondelay in simpleusb-tune-menu that can
help if you have a ping pong effect AFTER doing these other things.
You did not say exactly what you wanted to do but if you are using the
simplex node as a connection to a repeater that does not have Internet and
you have access to the repeater the best way is to make the repeater output
PL directly follow its input PL. Then you will have no repeater tail or ID
going out over Allstar. I do this with a repeater here and it works well.
The repeater still has an ID and tail which is not heard by anyone unless
they have receive PL turned off. What the repeater users hear is the PL and
tail of the simplex node. This works well but of course is half duplex at
the repeater but if the repeater does not have Internet access it is
probably the best way to do it short of putting (if you can) a 'Ubiquity'
link to the repeater site for Internet.
If that doesn't answer your question you need to be more specific.
