No I am not aware that would work, If you have a properly formatted
wpa_supplicant file you could copy it to
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant_custom-wlan0.conf
But be aware that would overwrite any setting that were previously there.
The best way is to set it up from the menu. It scnas for devices and sets
it up. You also have the option of manually entering an ssid and pass
phrase which you could get from an existing file.
