I updated to version1.5.3-36. When I look at ADMIN # 10 it displays
correctly but when I key *980 it says 1.5.3- 27 and it still says repeat
only and wont connect.

Mike,

I am not sure why it is not working for you. Many others have it working
fine as well as iaxrpt. I am sure you will find some simple thing. It has
nothing to do with the Pi which is a workhorse board and thousands are
using it without any issues. Perhaps someone else using zoiper can chome in
and give you some help.

No joy, Doug. I've wasted most of a week on this and it's obviously not
going to work. The directions are clear enough (although there are some
conflicting versions posted on the net), but no-go.

I'm not a moron, but this entire ASL/HamVoIP experience has sure made me
feel that way. I'm not sure how the average ham finds the time to work his
way through this. I've done Motorola repeater conversions in less time than
I've invested here.

Time to walk away for a while before I use the Pi for target practice.

Logan,

This is a real problem that we are working on and will have a solution for
this afternoon. The prior sanity checks for crashes and core dumps which
was proper code has disclosed yet another problem in the original Allstar
code involving memory allocation. Once we get this fixed there will be an
update to correct the problem and more detail on the issue. The end result
will be yet again better Allstar code!

Mike,

Just wondering in the Zoiper under settings and Server. Are you putting
ipaddress:4569?

I do have mine working and it did take a few days of walking off and
counting to 100,000 not the shot the pi.

An update to correct crashes and potential core dumps on 7/02 has unearthed
yet another memory allocation problem in the original Allstar code. The
sanity checks we added for memory allocation prevented a potential problem
from happening but as a result also prevented the reconnect mechanism from
working. The problem was the release of memory without setting it to null.
This is bad programming practice and while it might not cause a problem a
large percentage of the time, with the right conditions it will eventually
cause a crash. Undoubtedly we will find more of these problems in Allstar
in the future and correct them making the hamvoip package continually more
stable.

If you are using update V1.5.3-34 or V1.5.3-35 please update ASAP to
correct this problem. The latest version is - V1.5.3-36. Users with
versions earlier then V1.5.3-34 should also update to take advantage of the
more robust code and crash prevention.

Use the ADMIN menu item 1 to update.

Sorry for the inconvenience but you can be assured we are doing our best to
improve the hamvoip Allstar code and we will continue to correct any known
problems. This is why it is important for you to let us know if you are
experiencing any issues.

I just setup a allstar node. It connected fine for a while then I keyed *70
and it says my node number and repeat only.

I rebooted a few times then I was able to connect again. Once I shutdown the
system and reboot it happens again and says repeat only.

Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank

John
