Justin,

 That might be your theory but I have done it several times and it does not
cause problems so it is an option that can be used. Obviously you would
apply it  with lower frequency tones and properly adjusted levels. BTW the
new hamvoip DCS filter is brick wall below 300hz and in combination with
our new high pass filter gives an excellent audio bandpass.
