Doug, I did not understand the syntax ofasterisk -rx "rpt localplay|playback <node> /etc/asterisk/local/node-id
kept getting it wrong, but a clue may be using Supermon, I can use Control and send time Local or Global and that works. My examples in rpt.conf are as follows,976=cmd,/etc/asterisk/local/playnews/playnews-0.11 ARN now 41306 G &> /dev/null> 2>&1 ;Newsline *976977=cmd,/etc/asterisk/local/playnews/playnews-0.11 ARRL now 41306 L &> /dev/null
> 2>&1 ;Newsline *977Both play Local only. Hope to solve for the net tonight. I am slow learning Linux ang grasping the correct syntax.Wayne Jauss / N6TBQ

Just FYI, the future allstarlink.org site did away with the sysop setting.
Take a look at https://web-tap.allstarlink.org. We'll be migrating to there
early in 2019.

Wayne,

If you play it manually does it do the same thing? If you leave off the L
or G it should play globally. The only difference is that it uses the
localplay or playback commands. Does playing an audio file manually  with
localplay vs. playback work correctly? You can use your node ID to test.

asterisk -rx "rpt localplay|playback <node> /etc/asterisk/local/node-id

Gervais,

Getting a node going is not that hard. There are many options for a
radio. Perhaps you can tell use what radios you have that are
possibilities? There are also modified Baofeng and UV82 radios available to
buy as well as FOB's or even complete nodes in a box. Of course the least
expensive is doing it yourself but complete plug and play nodes are
available. We are here to help. If you need info on purchasing any of this
equipment let me know.

Tim,
I think your link is incorrect.  You transposed tpa with tap.
It should be this.  https://web-tpa.allstarlink.org/
